Surah Al-Kahf is a Meccan surah, revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ before his migration to Medinah.

I once heard a sheikh say, “Muslims don’t even know which surahs were sent down in Mecca or Medinah.” So I had to ask myself: Is this considered basic knowledge?? Why have I never learned about this while studying the Qur’an?

From now on, in my study of the Qur’an, I will make sure to note where each revelation took place. إن شاء الله.
