Medinah, My heart

Everyone says Medinah is their favorite, I finally understood why.

Theres no place like it.

Walking on the red stone bricks, my eyes gazed through the open courtyard. Such magnificence, excellence, every design to detail. I was in awe. Medinah, home to the mosque of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh). It captured my being completely. The minarets, the green dome, and most importantly the sense of peace that is present as you enter.

I visited Medinah, during my Hajj journey in 2013. Till this day it is on my mind, and its Dec 18th 2020. Subhanallah. One day I hope to return, and walk through the streets of Medinah, and give my salaams to our beloved Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) once again.

As I sat and watched the people come from all walks of life. I made a new friend. A woman from Senegal, our only language in common was my broken Spanish. We tried to speak to one another, however, majority of our communication was through our smiles. We took pictures together and just enjoyed the beauty of the moment we were experiencing. Everyone was welcome and everyone felt that they belonged. Prophet Muhammed(pbuh) was OUR prophet, all of us, on all sides of the globe.

Alhamdulilah, my hotel was right across from the Prophet’s Mosque. When the call to prayer would sound throughout the city, I was out the door with everyone to be first in line. At home I ran for buses, in Medinah, I ran for prayer. My heart was full.
