Let Go & Trust

Have you ever heard the phrase “Put your trust in Allah” & thought I’d love to do that but how? I wondered this for the majority of my time on earth.

Tawakkul is trusting in God’s plan.

Do your best & leave the rest to Allah, Rabbul Izzah. I want to sooo deeply but how?

My dreams and aspirations overwhelm me. I beg in sujud for Allah to accept from me, to create my reality the way I want it. I wonder day & night if my dua’s will come to fruition, convinced myself that if Allah is pleased with me then I shall achieve what I aspire and if I don’t? I feel insignificant. Who am I, to think God is pleased with me? I am a failure for a believer. I am not worthy of Allah’s compassion.

It’s a roller coaster of emotions. A desire to have Tawakkul and the need to feel in control. I heard from Dr. Omar Suleiman something that brought me peace “Allah always plans in our favor”. Okay, Allah is for me, always. I love that. It helped me to let go a little, yet I still wondered is my favor, my desire?

The beauty of this life is that it is not. Our desires are not ultimately what’s best for us. As painful as it may be in the moment; someday in the future we think back with a smile, awe at the wisdom of the Most High & say “All praise to Allah that it did not happen as I had wanted”

Our role is to do our part. Study for the exam, prepare actionable steps, take that leap of faith, whatever it takes that we CAN do we MUST do. The result? Is for Allah to decide & we trust and believe that The All Knowing, All Wise has chosen the best outcome for us.

“Tie your camel, then put your trust in Allah”

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

“وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَـٰكِرِينَ” Allah is the best of planners.

Al-Imran Verse 54

Peace & blessings upon the Nabi of Allah.
