In this life, we will be tested. That’s a fact.

The question is: how do our fragile hearts handle this?

How do we calm the racing within and trust that all will be well?

When the young men in the cave were confronted by the rulers of their time, they were at a severe disadvantage. It is Allah who gave them the strength to stand tall and proclaim the Oneness of Allah.

Allah Most High says:

وَرَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ

We gave strength to their hearts [18:14]

Just like the mother of Musa (AS) when she trusted Allah and placed her baby in the river. Imagine the state of her heart? My soul aches just thinking of it.

Now, I turn to this verse whenever I face a challenge. I remind myself: it is not I who can be strong, but it is Allah who calms my heart and enables me to face the test.

I truly believe my tests are minuscule compared to those of the Ummah. May Allah strengthen the heart of every believer.
