Labbayk Ya Rabb

Dear Allah.

All praise is to you.

Lord of mercy, Giver of mercy.

It’s 4 month’s now since the new year. 4 month’s since I returned from your blessed house and the resting place of the best of mankind, Muhammad ﷺ.

I told myself I wouldn’t journal anymore because I was done complaining about all the things I didn’t do. I wanted this year to be one of action. However, I seemed to have forgot how much I enjoyed thanking you, praising you. Just now, releasing my thoughts on paper I feel at peace.

Ya Rabb. I thank you wholeheartedly for every heartbeat of mine; for giving me Islam, my parents, family, community, Muslim Ummah at large. Thank you for all the ease in my life. From the day I was born you protected me from the cruelty of war, the hunger, famine, loneliness. I felt none of that. Thank you for educating me, always giving me access to a warm home, fresh water, clean spaces, and the freedom, independence to do as I please. I am humbled and forever grateful.

Ya Allah, you are the King of all Kingdoms, I have witnessed the people of this Ummah in soo much pain, crying at your house, please alleviate their sorrows. Create ease for them all and shower your mercy upon them. I thank you deeply that I am not crying out of pain but always out of awe in your mercy and feel indebted for all your blessings granted to me.

Peace and blessings upon the Nabi of Allah.
