Intention: A Game Changer
﷽
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said “Actions are according to intention and everyone will get what was intended” – Sahih Al-Bukhari.
This is the first Hadith in Al-Nawawi’s 40 Hadith book. This simple Hadith has always been in the back of my mind as I navigated through life and now as I begin to understand it’s importance I aim to always start my day with intention. There is even a book(on my reading list) titled The Power of Intention By Wayne Dyer.
What’s your intention you may ask? It’s not easy to always have this intention but I try to remind myself that nothing else matters. I live solely to please the Creator of the Worlds.
Whether it’s going to work, school, being kind to my parents, helping a friend, etc. I set my intention so that I can receive the reward from the Allah, Rabbul ‘Izzah for my efforts. Everything else that is good comes as a result of this. Without this intention all I can get is money, maybe approval, validation, a little bit of gratitude but that all ends in this life. I can’t take it with it me when I go. However, Al-Firdaus is eternal and my greatest desire.
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me [51:56]
Peace & blessings upon the Nabi of Allah.
